Title: Mammoth MX
Post by: Rick Hudachek on July 02, 2012, 03:27:15 pm
I was up at Mammoth MX this weekend and it was a great time.  Hats off to Piper, he had the event running very smooth! I ran into Neil, Hippie Brian, and Tractor Boy Mike Macdonald!!!! I also ran into a Viewie from earlier days Paul Ondas.  There was a descent collection of D37 folks flying colors (including Tractor Boy & myself), and I had alot of positive comments about our GP (as usual).

After I went over and stopped by where The Nays, and Matthews were camped and ended up staying for dinner, drinks and some washers.

Good times

REALLY enjoyed Hudy's and Dusty's visit. Unfortunately maybe a bit too much fun was had and we did not get up early enough to make the MX. BUT Brian and I did get in a dual sport ride of about 45 miles and it was a milestone for Brian. His first ride back since all his eye surgeries and it was successful! While he's not 100% and doubts he'll be up to racing he was able to ride pretty well and see enough definition to feel comfortable. So no more  /;/ and lots more  ;D on two wheels for Mr. Matthews.

We also got a nice visit from Todd Iles and his two yougest, Steven and Megan (?) Monday afternoon, they were camped up on Rock Creek and stopped in to say Hi.

This is why WE LOVE BEING VIEWFINDERS!

GREAT to hear Brian is back on a bike, nothing wrong with some "play rides"  or D S rides to help the healing process.
I know for a fact last T G weekend making a couple of short rides sure helped Me. Then I went again N Y's weekend and then to HBMC and hope to get out again soon.

YEA BABY!

Went out second day and caught my limit in less than an hour, pan sized rainbows. Smoked them that afternoon. Caught another the next day then on Tuesday mid morning brought in a 2.5# rainbow. Biggest trout I've ever caught and a total blast. Fishing was really good. Uncle Mike is SOOOO jealous of that fish!

Cool
Our trip to June Lakes was not so good in the fishing dept, windy and warm all 3 days.

Thats rush Creek behind Him, We did not do all that well there.
John and I slayed them in Bishop Creek area, caught Browns, Brookies and Rainbows.
Can't wait for October, 2 weeks after the GP, We go back to the Sierras for a week.
