Title: It's officially mine!
Post by: Chris Cory - President 2012-14 -Life Memeber on August 23, 2010, 09:07:52 pm
Well I got the bike registered today. I was a little nervous since the title was from Illinois and it hadn't been registered in Cali even though it has been here for two years. Only cost 208 for my red sticker, damn taxes!

I rode it for about 10 minutes at Invaders and it is a bit different than my quad. Lots of power and very light weight. This week it is going to get stripped down to the frame and the forks will get Jullian's special touch.

Can't wait to teach James and Gumby how to ride a bike! Of coarse it may be as they are passing me on the 2nd lap!  :-[ It will be nice to go from the last line up to the 2nd line though. I get to start about 45 minutes sooner now!

Now do I sign up for Vet or Senior next year? hmmm

Ditching the training wheels enables you to move to the beginner class, right?

Actually no, I could drop back down to Novice if I wanted but I believe you can only drop back one step when switching.

Congrats, I think you'll be happy with that bike. Suggest you have Julian do both shock and forks at once though.

I am going to give him both. They were both already done and seem balanced from the little I road it. The front has a bad seal so depending on what he finds when he opens them up, it may either be just a normal service or if he starts adjusting things, then yes he will need to match the rear also. I was hoping to be able to ride it awhile first to see what I wanted to have done to them but he is the master so I am sure he will let me know.

Trust me Charlie, I am looking forward to it. I just need a little seat time before I attempt to ride with you!  ;)
I haven't really ridden a bike it about 13 years! Shouldn't take me to long to get the hang of it again though.

There is now better place, I'm just down the road we can do some week day riding 5:00 to 6:00pm for an hour or so during the week until it cools down. I need to start riding anyway, I have not even burned up a tire this year and that is a sin hell my paints don't fit any more.

The bike is back together! I actually remembered where all the pieces went except for a few misc bolts I am sure I don't need.  ;D
I put the stock pipe and silencer back on and went back to stock jetting except I went with a slightly leaner needle. Now I just need to fine tune the suspension and jetting. A blown fork seal sure got expensive fast. Julian put in Gold Valves and new springs all around along with the seals. It was new springs or loss 90 lbs so I spent the money.  :P  Also did two stabilizers for me.Thanks again Julian, I feel much better about keeping the work within the family.

Hey Charlie, you up for a little ride Saturday?
