from the district board I understand the Eddy family is in tough times. They are looking for blood donations as Dianna is in late stages of cancer. She will be at City of Hope Friday. I am trying to find out what/when to donate as I understand we're both O+. As soon as I know more I will let you all know.
Prayers for the Eddy's
-
Very sorry to hear that, I would be next in line to donate, but !!
Hope things work out for Her and the Eddy family.
Where did you see this info ??
-
I spoke to Max. They have a consultation on Friday at City of Hope. I also spoke to City of Hope about donating blood. It takes 2-3 days to process the blood for direct use and since they are not sure when she will be admitted I am holding off. Whole blood is good for about 1 month but platelets are only good for a few days. We're not sure what she will need so I'm on hold pending the consultation.
Once Max contacts me about their needs I will let everyone know. They are currently at Loma Linda.
-
Sorry to hear, the Eddy family will be in our prayers. I am also O+. I am leaving town next Wednesday but would be happy to donate before I go or after I get back. Just let me know.
-
I was aware the Eddy's were dealing with a cancer I'm not sure what my blood type is but I can sure find out and will be glad to donate. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Eddy family.

I have a different blood type, but would be happy to donate to a bank to build her "credits". If that is available with City of Hope I will contact them to see if they will even accept my blood. Let me know. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dianna and the whole Eddie family.
-
I know what they are going through and offer any help that may be needed. I will be out of town for a week but if blood is needed and I can help, I will as soon as I get back. Anything else will be taken care of by all of us I am sure.
-
Will keep Dianna in our thoughts... I am really bummed to hear this. She is a tough gal (had to be to put up with Max, Sr. and those twins)... and I hope the miracle we are all hoping for happens. Hugs to the entire Eddy family - Max, Dianna, Max, Jr., Matt, Amber and all the grandbabies <3
-
I am A positive and would be honored to donate to that family.
-
i think im O+ if more blood is needed im will to give some up

Diana is in City of Hope, check out this thread on the district board:
http://www.district37ama.org/forums/showthread.php?t=46389 (http://www.district37ama.org/forums/showthread.php?t=46389)
Looks like lots of folks are stepping up and donating, I just made an appointment for 7/5 at 11:00. There are other locations to donate, read through the thread. Eddy's are going through some tough times right now and need our support.
Let's show the district what a tight family we are and all that can get out there and donate for Diana. You don't have to be o+ to add to her account, but if you are she can take the whole blood instead of just plasma. But a pint is a pint any way you put it. If you have not donated before it is real simple and virtually painless, no worst than a blood test at the doctor's office.
Chris/Kandy, can you move this thread to the general discussion board please? We need to make sure that everyone can see it that can help.

Thanks for the link Donn

i WILL BE GOING DOWN NEXT WEEK
See if you can get an appointment around noon Tuesday and we can have lunch.
For that matter anyone going to City of Hope let me know and I'll try to meet you for lunch or at least a cup of coffee, as I said my office is about 10 minutes from there.
-
Went this morning and was in/out in one hour. VERY nice facility. Please everyone that can should donate. All you need is a picture I.D. and Dianna's name and D.O.B.
-
Any work on how things are going for Her, I have been gone for 5 days /;/

Just read this on the district board:
Thanks to everyone that has stepped up to the plate to donate blood for Dianna Eddy. Some of you for the first time!!! The tremendous outpouring of donors from D-37 was incredible.
The City of Hope will no longer be accepting donations for Dianna Eddy. The Eddy family have expressed that they would love to see donations continue into a District 37 blood account to benefit D-37 members and their families. (I am going to contact Lifestream and see if this can be done.)
Dianna is being moved to her home in Barstow today. Dianna is undergoing an alternative chemo therapy at this time.
Please pray for Dianna and the Eddy family.

So are things looking better or not so good?
I really hate hearing about this stuff, I wish we could all just die of old age and not have stuff like this happen.

Got this offthe D-37 board, I don't know if its a good or bad prognosis.

Unfortunately that's what I feared when I read Dirtclod's post about "experimental treatments" at home. It does not sound good, but you never know.
Please everyone keep the Eddy family in your thoughts and prayers, never been a better Viewie brother than Max Sr.

THE DIANNA EDDY RACERS BLOOD DONOR GROUP
At the request of Max Eddy Sr., I have been working with Life Stream to establish a blood donor group in Dianna?s memory.
The Eddy family is so very grateful for all of the donations that helped to keep Dianna alive. Your gift can never be repaid. However, we can make sure the next racer or racers family member has what they need if the unthinkable happens.
As of today, we officially have the Dianna Eddy ? Racers Blood Donor Group. If you are now or have ever considered becoming a regular blood donor you now have a very good reason to move ahead with your plans.
By using the group code MDRC at any Life Stream donation center you are doing two things.
Giving much needed blood to people in immediate need
Creating credits at the blood bank in the event that you or a family become ill or is injured.
In the case of the latter, should you or someone in your family become ill or are injured and are in a Life Stream area hospital all you have to do is reference the code MDRC and Life Stream will pull from the available credits.
In addition to convenient mobile donation centers that come directly to businesses, churches, schools, government buildings or other local civic facilities during our community blood drives, we encourage you to make a lifesaving donation and become a red-blooded hero at one of our five donor centers listed here.

Life Stream services a huge number of hospitals and medical centers in almost every area. You can visit their website at www.lstream.org
If you are going to give blood, let?s keep it in the desert racing family. Let?s build the credits to ensure a sick or injured brother or sister gets the life sustaining blood they need.
If you would like to organize a blood drive at your office or shop, please contact me. I will be glad to work with you and Life Stream to make your event a success.
Again, on behalf of the Eddy family, Max Sr., Max Jr., Matt and Amber a heartfelt thank you to all of you.

Max, Toby (Max, Jr), Matt and Amber - The Thorntons send our deepest condolences. Dianna was such a larger than life person and her smile and laugh were infectious. I don't know how she managed to keep those twins in line, but she did! Her spirit lives on in each of you and especially those grandbabies. Take care and know there is a lot of love and support amongst your Viewfinder and D37 families.
-
To The Eddy's, I don't know Dianna that well but what I do know is she is very proud of her family and rightly so! It doesn't look like we will make it to the service and we are sorry about that. For the rest of us make sure to hug your mom, wife one extra time in honor of Dianna.
-
This just breaks my heart. I am deeply saddened by this news. My heart and thoughts go out to the Eddy fam. Dianna had a full plate .. Between Max Sr., the twins, and of course their gorgeous daughter Amber... That's a lot for any mom to manage/handle but she did it and she did it well! She was ALWAYS smiling, laughing, and you could sense her happiness and pride in her family.
-
Sorry we missed the services but our prayers were with Dianna and the family. Assume the service was beautiful and well attended. Saw on the D37 board one of the boys must have done a memorial ride for Mom at the Invaders! The Joneses
-
The services were very nice with standing room only. This was a true hart breaker, I can tell you the Eddy's are made from strong stock. The sunset celebration was very nice, well attended and the food was over the top. They had a two man band which did a great job, kids in the pool, one would think Dianna had to be proud and smiling on her family.
God Bless the Eddy family
