Ok it looks like we have a great turn out brewing so lets start listing what food we will be bringing and what games are being planned.

We should have a contingency plan in case mother nature decides to exhale that weekend. Past history at this race has been a bit breathy.

Good idea. I am going to bring down the car hauler and we can use it as a serving hall, like we did out at fish lake.

Invited and got a "YES" on attending from Gordon and Jackie! I'll be there which makes 3 more. I'll forward a food item from them when I hear something.I'll leave it up to our VP to contact Dave Pruitt if he feels an invite is appropriate or give me the 'Go Ahead' and I'll call him! KJ i

I wanted to make a potato casserole (last one I made no one got to have). Would that be ok if Norm is doing baked potatoes or should I do something else?
We also have a new game called CanJam. It involves a Frisbee and 2 cans. Do you want us to bring it just in case someone wants to try it?
We will also bring our Liars Dice.

Tom McD so glad to hear Mark & Justine may come with you & Chris. Will they help in the pits with you guys? We can use all the help we can get with a turn out like this. This is going to be great. And yes I am feeling better so we hope it stays that way.

Jones, your "memory" is gettin' bad son. I believe I stated that I would personally contact the head Thorton Lady to verify that they were gunna make it out. But I wont have to now after reading some threads on this MB.
I'm amazed & very happy that so many Viewies are going to attend our upcoming race. Ive been working with blm since last May concerning this race. What a PITA!
Anyway, Diggers are looking forward to having you all participate!

I don't want to jinks myself though, I have been doing a lot of work on my bike and this will be the first ride so I hope nothing goes wrong. :o

Enough of the "orange bike bashing" Pot
Just thought I would mention something, NO WAY do I want to sound negative, but with 20-25 racers, we have to be careful of how much fuel we have "on the ground".
Ridgecrest BLM is much more strict with their enforcement efforts, and I believe the rule is 35 gallons of fuel.
We can have more, but it needs to be away from the fueling area. What I am saying is that you only bring enough for what you need, if you have a 2.5 gal tank you don't need 5 gal of fuel in your jug.
I certainly don't want anyone to run out of gas, but less fuel in your jug means more jugs can be ready for the racers. i.e. 7 cans X 5 gallons or 14 cans X 2.5 gallons.
Also, how many "spill mats" do we have, its very possible more than one rider will need service at the same time.
Since I am not the pit captain this weekend, I hope I am not stepping on CB's toes ;D
Just thought I would mention this and try to avoid any problems.

Thanks for mentioning it Bob. We will make sure our can isn't full on Sunday for the pit. Easier to pour too.
Also I think I will wear my Honda sweater this weekend with all the KTM at our camp. I never wear it because its dirt digger colors. Haha.

Several of us won't need pits. ;D I'll throw some throw away carpet in my truck for this weekend! No need to buy any! KJ
ps The Checkers had several riders at an event and just designated two pits next to each other ;) Put a piece of ribbon between them. Use the open pit and move the gas forward from the other as the gas comes off!!!

Sooooooo......I've been a little MIA lately. What time do the shenanigans start on Saturday? And, I'm not 100% in, but I'm hoping my schedule will clear so I can at least make one of the days.

As usual the general "Tom Foolery" will start Friday and the "Shenanigans" have been scheduled for Saturday. Although as you all know, I have been known to mix the two up......and sometimes do both at the same time. Oh well you all knew the job was dangerous when you took it.... >:D

So if you have TWO Racers Pitting at the same time, then your allowed FOUR Pit Peeps pitting them. SIX for THREE, etc... BUT, say your Club has 15 Racers that are gunna pit. That CAN mean that you have 30 Pit Personel in that particular Pit. But only two at a time Pitting a Racer on the mat.
I know its not your 1st rodeo Viewies, but have that Fire Extinguisher where the Pit Nazis can see it.

Brian said he was getting there Friday in the AM. I jokingly asked Diggers to rope off a big section for us to fit 25 RV's and they said they could do that. Then the comment was made about our camps turning into one so I am not sure if they ARE planing to save us a spot or not.
As for me, I won't be getting out there until late Friday night between 11 and 12. Nate has his Blue and Gold ceremony for Cub Scouts tomorrow night.

I'm bringing Steven out for his first "real" desert race and am going to chase him if there are any other VF on the beginner line. He has a baseball game Sat at 11 so probably wont get there unitl 4:30 or 5. Anyone have a med or large jersey? I think he outgrew the fancy one with his name on the back (Any other members named Steven that can wear an adult small??).

It appears that if Flat Tire cannot swing by and get the BBQ Rag Boy will bring it out. I have not heard from Flat Tire yet but between both of them it should be out I hope!

Darlene Barney's potato casserole was uh uhhhh amazing!!!!
Tri tip was utterly yum! Everything was super yum!
