Wear the shield with pride!

Only one of the "straws" was actually inside my leg, the other was scrape laying there. It was actually the wrist part of a latex glove that he cut off to make the drain.

Almost a week later, my limp is almost gone. The whole back of my knee area is black and blue and some on the inside of my knee. It has actually been my knee being swollen all week that has be a pain. I can't wait until I can just take a shower like normal again, maybe in the next day or two. Been taking baths all week to keep it dry.

Still have one small hole below the cut that is a puncher wound that bleeds a little here and there. I figured since I have never had stitches before I should do it right the first time.  ;D

Sooo, how is the knee ??

I know when I has 24 stiches in my foot, as they dried out, they itched like crazy.
Could not sleep many nights due to the constant itching !!

Doing pretty good thanks. The surrounding soreness of my knee is pretty much gone but it is still tight to bend it all the way. The cut is just starting to itch a little. Just wrapped it back up today since it was starting to get a little red. I have had the bandage off for the last few days letting it get some air. Still looks pretty nasty, parts of the skin are all black.

Oh by the way, did I say make sure you wear your knee guards?  ;D

Going to get my stitches out today! Not looking forward to it though since some of them are still buried under a scab. Not sure what they are going to do about it but we will see.

Well my friend made it sound like it was a big deal. Wasn't at all and really didn't even feel it except for a couple of times. Still have another 2 - 3 weeks before it is completely healed. No infections or anything, just one area where the skin was pretty much gone from being smashed. There is a little numbness on my lower leg but hopefully that will come back. Just ordered my new knee guards so I should be all ready for taft!  ;D

the numbness in the area of the injury will be there for a LONG time but you get used to it. We'll compare scars when yours heals up  ;D

So we finally got the bill for my ER visit. The original bill was 2400 but my co-pay was only 100. This plus the medical supplies was much more than my knee guards but live and learn. It could have cost a lot more!
