Title: Round 1 USDR Red Mtn
Post by: Charlie & Darlene Barney - Life Members, 2015 President on January 28, 2010, 09:28:50 am
Anyone interested in doing a short fun desert race or series. The events are like euro scrambles 11 to 14 mile courses and it is a six race series. Nothing to join just race entry. The first round is in two weeks. The race flyer is below in the attachment. I will be going and doing the series it would be great to see other Viewfinders checking it out.

That is the weekend of the Taft GP so I can't make it either. I wouldn't mind trying one though.

I understand Taft is that weekend but when was the last time any of you were at a GP other then our race which includes me as well. Other then Kieth we have a poor showing again including me. The way I see it is not many, if any Viewfinders ride GP's and if some are planning on it like Chris great, I say good luck have a great time. But as a racing club sometime's it is good to step out of the D-37 box. I just wanted to let everyone know there are other fun desert races going on out there.

Hey Charlie, it does sound interesting but from reading the flyer, how does the course hold up? Since they allow a practice lap and it is a short course, I would think it would get pretty hammered.

It is a desert race but overall they hold up pretty good. In 2008 I ran both races on Sunday and it was not bad. I must say they do a very good job starting on time, great course markings, interesting courses but not hard by any means and a good family event. Dave the guy that runs it is a distict guy himself and seams to know what works most of the time.

No worries.. Was just posting where we'd be ... A lot of my friends are torn between the two ... Taft has a "purse".. and USDR is well... USDR! ;) Good luck out there CB!
