We didn't know if we could make it up the hill. Cal Trans said CHP escorts so we had to see that. Snowed all the way there very cool, rained on Bessimer. Set up ate dinner hung out with the Rovers. Cold and windy Friday night, Saturday was beatiful took the Rhinos to the snow and then a mud bog Shaft almost sunk. Jeff Meek Serena, Kandy, Jen, Mike Bandfield, went too. I went to the suspension work shop very informative. Typical Saturday night Julian, Jonathan, prospective members Terry and Cynthia some Dirt Diggers, Bent Peckers, Mike Garvin, the Meeks, the Thorntons enjoyed a small but warm fire. Sunday was blue bird clear the pits were impressive every bike manufacture was there . Huge talent on the line Kurt Caselli, Kendall, Destry, Pearson, Udall, James Jenkins, Jonathan Gumant, Terry, Erin, Megan etc. Norman Led most of the race but was hunted down by Kurt. James had a good finish (4th)in spite of a get off early in the 2nd loop, Jonathan broke down 20 miles in (throttle cable) Mcginnes and Julian went to the rescue. Terry had a decent ride going untill his chain came off and busted his case, wife, Jon, and myself to the rescue. Megan got a finish in and Erin finished a national on an older model XR 200 not sure why and please don't ask him about this we don't want to encourage him. Team Jenkins helped with the pits not many riders but we were busy. All the racers were soked and muddy looked like a G.P. Tough course but not ridiculous, the spectating was excellent Great weekend!

Nice report, thanks John. Gumby a DNF? Wow! Way to go James, now just keep that bike under you and you'll do well.

Which B P M C guys were there ???

Aaron Price is certifiably crazy!!! Finishing both loops of a DMC National on an XR200 - he was beat to hell but smiling at the end. Epic... Epic weekend ~ number plates too muddy to read coming into the pits.. well thought out central start, pits and finishes.. kudos to Dez MC and NHHA. We had a moment of worry when the call first came in and said Gumy was injured.. so glad to hear that retracted and it was only the BIKE that was broken and not him! We mud bogged out on our way to the sand dunes and had to turn around... now that dont happen every day in the dez!

Gumby still owes me $20.00 for the tool rental to get his sorry butt out of that canyon.

Awesome stuff, thanks John for the report. Yesterday while I was on my roof and looking at the mountains, I drifted off (wishing I was in the Dez) and was thinking about you guys and was hoping no one got hurt with no dust and good traction.
Again glad to hear everyone made it home and safe for another race.
Oh whoever was the "Pit Captain" needs to contact Chris and let him know who was there and who worked the pit before you forget..

Thanks for the report, we need to try and have someone do these every race! It would be nice to get everyone to do one from their perspective.
I will post the semi final 2009 points totals this week. I will need everyone to let me know if anything is missing before I make them final.
If we can get the pit information after the race it will be much better in the long run. We are missing some sheets from last year so maybe nothing will get missed if we do this.

My buddy just got around to sending me the pictures he took from DMC. They came out so good I had to share. Too bad I look like a bear on a bicycle in the bomb run.

Bob that is the LRP (Little Red Piglet)
For the record I did order Jenni a new rear tire for that thing earlier today.

I guess I was focused on the worn tire and did not see the "200" on the seat cover :-[
