Title: It came in the mail today
Post by: Chris Cory - President 2012-14 -Life Memeber on March 05, 2010, 04:58:43 pm
My Yellow bar just showed up in the mail today. (http://www.offroadtoybox.com/smile/woot.gif)
Now lets see how long it takes to get my red bar on a bike! I think it will be a long time from now. (http://www.offroadtoybox.com/smile/crying.gif)

No I actually never got my yellow bar back then. I never raced that heavy at first and then had my big crash and stopped racing. I had one to go when I stopped. That 250 class back then was a big class! It was hard to get those transfers back then.

This time, it was also a little hard since the class was so small! Only a 1st and sometimes a 2nd would get you a transfer. (Only 5 to 6 in my class at each race) I am happy that it only took me 5 rides to do it though. Getting a transfer every race made it that much more fulfilling when I got it. I ended up getting 3 1st's and 2 2nd's and the 2nd's were to the same young kid!  >:(  ;D

I switched to a quad to try something different and see how well I could do. I am at the point now that to be competitive, I either need to put around 2500 into the suspension to be equal to the other guys or just switch back to a bike. I miss being on a bike so that is the direction I am going. This quad with the stock MX suspension is beating me to death and is making it not fun to race!

I have a few bikes and some other stuff to sell and then I will get my bike. I have an early 80's goldwing 1100 that is like new with around 2500 miles on it if anyone is interested. It has been stored for most of its life as you can see with the low miles.

Went from  bikes in the 60's & 70's to ATC's in the mid 80's, then the quads in 2003.
Back to a D S bike in 06.  We did have bikes for JJ and JJJ most of the time.

Quads are tough on the body, even when not racing and tough on the wallet to make competitive

Tell me about the Wing Chris. Brian has one and is after me to join them and do some touring.
