Thank you Flat Tire for posting this sad news. Don LIFE member always showed up for the GP until health eld him bck th last few years. Don was a great man meny looked up to. He will be missed by all. He passed at home yesterday 7/5/14. Donn is the second life member we have lost in the last two years. The club should send flowers when we find info on his services. It would be great to honer Donn and Lue with a start banner this year or something.

Wow, I haven't logged on here in a long time, bummed to read of his passing ...
-
Sad to hear, I didn't know him either but the name has come up a lot. We will send flowers once we have the details.

Dons celebration of life will be Saturday 7/12 at a residence in Sun Valley, Ca. This will be a Hawaiian theme 3:00pm at 8535 Vine valley Dr. Sun Valley CA 91352
It would be great if we can get The club to show up in force. Most of may have not had the opportunity to meet Don but I can tell you Don was a true life member and supported the club and off roading to the end. He will be missed.

I confirmed with Keith that we have flowers setup.
Flat Tire and I spoke last night and I think we're both going to be there, you're in CB aren't you?
-
Yes, me and Darlene will be there. We will not be staying long as her sister is moving in that day and we expect her to show up around 4 or 5

See you there, I think I'll ride one of the Hondas, not sure which one. Thought that would be fitting.

So glad I was able to be around Don a few years at the GPs. He always just showed up. Don is an inspiration to me for sure. True Life Member. Wish I could have made his celebration of life I'm sure there were some interesting people there.

It was a nice get together. I met MANY old Viewies, most of which have stopped coming out. some expressed interest at coming out to this year's G.P. Current members attending were Mike (Tractor Boy) McDonald, Charlie and Darlene Barney, Flat Tire Bill McInnes. Someone had a picture from 1990 Baja race (don't remember if it was 500 or 1,000) with the team and we all got a good chuckle looking at 30 year old faces. Don and his son Marty were in that picture and Tractor Boy was one of the racers, I think they said they finish fifth overall, first in class but someone else would need to verify that.
It was a long 3.2 miles from my house to the memorial so I rode my Dual Sport in honor of our fallen member.
