Well while we're waiting for a ride report from Sandy et al from the Fish Lake Valley ride I was thinking about setting a date to go to Kennedy Meadows this summer. A couple of years ago we went and had a blast. Maybe late July, early August? Thoughts anyone? I'm sure we could get the Jenkins to go and maybe Sir Charles if there's no water in Pine Flats by then.

Due to Our scheduals, Aug 7th-9th or July 10th-12th is probably our best shot.
Our schedual has every other Friday off and its very difficult to get any other Friday off.
The weekend we have off between those dates is taken.
I still need to run this by JJ and John, but will try to make it even if it don't work for them.
Hope this works for others also.

I talked to Josh Jenkins and there is a date planned for July 4. I know some Dirt Finders will be there during this time.

The Peckers usually go up in early July. We do not have a date set yet. I know Gary L. usually goes with us. As soon as I find out more I willl post the date. JJ

I would think 7/4 would be real crowded wouldn't it? Let's keep the ideas coming. Once we get it down to two or three choices we'll make a poll and then ink the date.

I would also like to come! I have to check on my summer schedule and see what works best...I know the weekend of the 10th-12th is definitely out for me...I have to take my final exam for school... :P

We looked at our scheduals and we could make it any weekend in July except the weekend of the 17th-19th.
July 4th prolly will be too crowded and the last weekend 31st-2nd is going to be tough, but we could make it.
Hope we can work something out :)

I see that the BPMC guys are shooting for the weekend of July 11th & 12th.
They went Memorial weekend and worked on Rattlesnake trail and got it open.
We are 99% sure were "good to go" that weekend. How about the rest of You ? BPMC group is usually fairly small so there should not be a problem with overcrowding ::)
Were still open fo a July trip either way.

Right or wrong we gotta set a date and that looks as good as any, should give me enough time to get my bike rebuilt.

It's looking like my bike might be needed a new top-end here pretty soon as well. As long as everything goes as planned, I should be able to make the trip at the endo fo July!

Get them bikes up and running, can't miss this ride!!
I am definatly NOT the best rider, but this is one ride that I can't miss, as the scenery is the best I have ever encountered!!
We should have enough people to have separate groups, the fast and crazy ride, and the slower more sane cruise. Last trip we had 2 groups and met up 3 or 4 times along the ride.

Sounds good Chuckie. One issue though, there really isn't any place for Luke to ride. The trails are very tight and technical and there isn't any riding right around camp. The general M.O. is to gear up and go for a long ride or two, then kick it in the evening around the campfire. Call me this weekend.

troy meadows camp ground is very nice,there are quite a few camp sites there not full hookups,across the way is troy meadows overflow
also, its on first come first serve basis.there is also fishcreek campgroung before troy meadows.
were not sure if we are going yet.

Troy Meadows or Troy overflow? Last time we stayed in overflow and it was great. Either way I'm good.
Got my head back Friday, should have the bike back together this week.

Talked with Our other Son John (JJ#2), He is also going.
He is very good with Map Source and GPS, and will come up with a good route for those who prefer a little more mellow ride (Less Technical). So far Donn, Me and JJ#2 have DS bikes which are needed for the "mellow ride".
The rest of You can do the ride with JJ and Co.

Last trip it was 117* at the bottom of the hill, much nicer up there.

Troy campground it sounds like and since some of the Peckers are going up earlier on Thursday we should be good. If you just want to throw the bike on the back of your truck you can bunk with Brian and I, it's just the two of us in my trailer and we're staying until Sunday.
There will be Viewie arrows for sure.

You missed some great rides !!
Donn, Brian, Pete, Aaron, JJJ, and I had a very nice ride and I provided some entertainment ;D
Sunday, Pete JJJ, and I went for another nice ride, no one saw me crash, but I made it down Jackass trail and didn't make one out of myself ;D
Sunday afternoon the clouds came in and it cooled down and even rained a little, JJJ and I took about a 30 mile jeep road ride, really nice sights !!
I understand WORK before play,
but next trip the rest of you slackers might want to show up :P
