Looks fun, Wish I could have went, Aaron I'm going to my mother's  next weekend.  Are you going to be around Aug. 1st, 2nd and 3rd  Show me your loop??

Sounds good Jim.  I will still be on the Husky most likely so it will have to be the El Mirage loop.  I won't have enough gas to extend it to the Lake LA section.  Unless you want to just do the fun stuff on the other side of the Highway.  Let me know so I can change gearing accordingly.

Also thank you for feeding us and letting me scratch up your CRF.

Aaron, you are more than welcome, the CRF still runs great even after you rode it! We just finished 70 miles in Mammoth, nothing as technical as KM but still a LOT of fun.

It was great to see you and Jenny up there, glad you're feeling so well.

I say we set the last weekend of July as a standing Viewies weekend in K.M. What do you all think? Mark your calendars now, see you there in 2010.

Last weekend in July sounds good to me too.  I think me and Jenni are also going to take a tent up there in a month or so and do some more woods riding if you feel like showing up again.  You can't beat that place for summertime riding.

Some "real world" numbers for those who might have some reservations about the road up/back from KM.

The GMC Diesel pulled the hill with no problem at 107* at the bottom and about 80* at the top.

Engine got to 235* and trans 208*, well within limits.

The trip down, engine was 210* and trans was 235*

The Old Gasser Chebby did the uphill at 210* engine and 275* trans.

The trip down with the Chebby was normal temps for the engine/trans Gasser but HOT brakes.

I took the infared temp gauge along and checked all the wheels/brakes at the bottom, front brakes were 308* and rears 405*, trailer brakes about 180*, well  within limits.  Truck brakes don't do anything crazy until well over 500*

So get Your arse up there next trip !!

One of them "Peckers" mangled up his knee the week before, so he could not ride, still made it up there with family and drank a few beers instead.

Attendance: Peckers 6 and Viewies 8 including family, but if you count the "dual citizens" it was 8 to 8, but more "Viewies" rode 7 to 3

One of the "Peckers" was impressed by one of the "Viewies" walking by his camp sipping a cold one at 10:00 AM, guess who ??

AND IT WAS NOT ME  ;D

Looks like the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of August.  Yes I know, I know.  I told you I was going to be on a really long street bike ride starting on the 21st but I clearly had the dates mixed up.  The 70's were a very good time for me. Inspector gadget and Mrs Gadget and Mini Gadget are coming too.

Anybody else interested?

I going to miss out again damm, I will be in Colorado doing a little riding in the rockies between Glennwood springs and Aspen. It should almost as good as Kennedy. ;D I have been there once and the riding was out of control tight woods no hoops or dust riding up to 11000 feet can I say BAMBY LAND! But there is a reason why they call the rockies the rockies.
You all have great time,

I'm having issues with quotes when replying. Whenever I get to the bottome of the text window the scroll won't stay, it keeps typing down below the bottom of the window. I told Chris about it but he hasn't figured it out. Does it on both my desktop and my laptop.

Pete showed up and left this note on my truck.  It was actually a warning.  He ran head on into me halfway through the loop.  Luckily we both stopped and just barely hit foot pegs.

The riding was great.  Slight bit of rain on Saturday. Pete had an awesome AA enduro log crossing.  Bad part was that it was not on the trail and was followed by him riding down into a deep ditch.  I had two head on collisions. The first one with Pete was pretty funny.  The second one was pretty rough.  I was second gear pinned and took out a guy on a TTR125.  He will be having nightmares of XR600s with battering ram style gas tanks hunting him down for the rest of his life. Cool guy.  I invited him over to our camp for a beer.  He assumed equal responsibility because he was also going to fast.  I did not point out that it was not technically possible for a TTR 125 to carry him that fast.  Why take more blame when I clearly deserve it. Right?

Head injury firmly in place we had a final ride on Sunday followed by a trip to the Pearsonville Disney Land.

Jenni discovered that "The Uniroyal Lady"  has red underwear.  Such attention to detail is never given to modern roadside statues.
