SOOOO who's in for this one? I'm pulling an enduro card this year and trying to do them all. Can I get on a minute with some of you enduro veterans? How do you do the preentry and get on the same minute? Do they all have to go in the same envelope or can they go in separately?
Minute A = KJ, Norm, Lee, Aaron
Minute B = Donn, Chris, Terry, Todd
Minute C = ?
-
The usual 4 KJ, Lee, Norm and me are doing this. Entries have to go out together except when done online.
-
Thanks Aaron, so how do you do it online together? Who's in for a second Viewie minute, Terry? I'm two loops next year since they changed the rules.
-
I might be, I am on call for Jackrabbits and going to DMC but I could drive out for the day for this one. I could only do a ride along since I have never done an Enduro before.
If you are up to keeping time, I will ride with you.

Sounds good to me Chris, I'll find out how we get on the same minute via online entry.
-
Looking at the flyer, I guess I would only do 2 loops? I will be a B-Senior but that combination is not actually listed. 3 loop is listed as A-Senior only.
Seeing that the family enduro is Saturday, I may just make a weekend out of this one too.

Lets go Racing!

Terry better do this then. I don't like being the only 3 looper from our club!
-
So far i have dropped Jackrabbits off my list and plan on UMC and the DMC national.
Which hurts because Jackrabbits was probably my favorite race last year.I want to race as many tough races as i can before i cant.Does that make sense?

So do you want to be on a minute with Chris and I? We won't be doing the third loop though so you'll need to do some time keeping.
-
There is no need to keep time after the first loop.

Oh yea, forgot that. Actually probably for the second loop as well for me at least.

That would be fine.If there is room i will take it.

As soon as I figure out how to get us on one minute I will take care of it. Worse case we sign up on Saturday.

Go to ON-LINE REG and enter the the # of riders in the 'pay later' box. It will give you that many entries to fill out on a minute to be assigned. Have a club roster for rider infoi and AMA #s. Any ?s ask Aaron as he is the GURU on this stuff ;D
-
Just click the contact button and email Bonnie and let her know you want to be on the same minute. Also include it in the comment box when you sign up. It's really easy.
-
So most are saying on the 2nd loop you just go as fast as you can. Do you still try to stay as a group on your minute or is it everyman for himself? Or woman if you are a girl. ;D

The 2nd loop usually gets to be that way! If someone that knows what to do behind you passes you, better 'wind the pony up'!!! If some seems to know what they are doing in front of you, "pull the reigns back" and stay behind them! The last loop gets to be a Desert Race most of the time. KJ
-
Then the third loop you just try not to hour out.

Come on , you guys are killing me. :'( Beside your scaring away Chris and others from racing enduros. Please be honest, I zero the UMC enduro many times, it's like a family enduro. :)~:)
-
Let me know if either minute has an open spot, I want to bring Steven out to do the Sat. Family enduro and want to ride Sunday. ;)
-
I edited Donn's first post to show who is on what minutes. If we have more people that are wanting to go, we could re arrange our minute to group the 2 and 3 loop guys together if needed. This is my first Enduro so I will leave it up to you guys to tell us what the best thing to do is.

Once you're on a minute you can't "switch" very easily. I still haven't signed up so someone tell me if this is the final answer. Doesn't look too bad to me though as I'm the only one on the second minute that only goes two loops but then Aaron is all alone on his minute on the third loop too correct?
-
What about signing up before we have our numbers? I'm just sending in my apps now.
-
Just write "applied".
-
Do i have to pre-enter if i want to be on Donns minute?I prefer to just enter at the race if possible.
-
You and Donn will have to sign up together. Either pre entry or at the race. Doesn't matter.
-
well...i have a good clock,i have my roll chart...but my ODOmeter isnt working out...
im haveing troublr getting parts for the autocal so i may just buy a new checkmate. If i get a computer i still plan on just useing it for a ODO and learning the old school way.Looking forward to the Enduro...See you guys there.

Put a new head gasket on the Kawi tonight. if it doesn't over heat or blow up tomorrow I will be out! Might need a little sponsorship help (medium Jim?) 113.00 membership/race fee, 75.00 new rear, plus gas and alcohol 120.00. 218.00 total, Keith, Don, Megan, Charles? Is there like a life member slush fund or something?
-
Two questions:
1. When is everybody going out? I plan on going straight from work Friday afternoon, should be there early evening.
2. Assuming I'm the first one there where do you guys want to camp? Camp is at Anderson.

Tara and I will be out Sat afternoon. Find a spot and we'll find you! Todd and Steven were planning on the Fun Saturday Run, so I assume they may be out earlier!
Watch your cabinets and ice chests this weekend if Goldenrod makes it out. He's looking for someone to support (sponsor) his drinking habit!!! KJ
-
I'm coming out with Steven to ride the Saturday family enduro and will probably ride Sunday (might even stay until Monday since its MLK day). Planning on leaving either Friday afternoon or early Saturday AM. Saturday ride starts at 11:00, anyone else interested in riding it?

I'll probably ride it Todd. Russ is supposed to be dropping off his computer for me to try and I need to give it a dry run. I rode the family enduro before 4 Aces and it was fun and it taught me how to keep time.

Well you know me, there will be liquor in my trailer but I'm not sponsorin' ::)
-
Sounds fun Donn, looking forward to riding it with the boy, it will be his first real "race" besides the kids events. I sent in the online pre-entry for Sunday and asked to be put on a minute somewhere near Keith and them, did you guys pre-enter? If so, is there room on your minute?

Cheap bastards, the rich just get richer. I will be out Sat morning I don't know if I'll make the family ride but I will try'

And the drunk get drunker. So it's not all bad!

No, never got it together to send in our entries and then Chris got hurt, so maybe its all good. Let's go to sign up on Saturday together and see if there's room on your minute, then maybe Terry and I can get on it with you. When are you going out?
-
Donn, going out either friday afternoon/evening or early Saturday AM. My cell is 951-567-1330, give me a call if you are going out Friday so we don't end up in 2 different spots.
Hey john, if we sign up for the family ride we'll grab a whole minute. Looks like they will let up to 6 ride on a minute as long as 1 or 2 are kids/beginners.

Late Friday, early Saturday for sure. The family ride sounds perfect for jon to break in the KLX. Firewood? Anyone?

I have some firewood in my truck that didn't get used New Years but probably not enough for two nights.
-
I have enough for a good night. If we have left over I will bring it out to DMC.
-
Ill bring a few 12x12 timbers.Good till morning ;D

That's no lie! See you at 8:16

Change in plans, I'm not going to make it, caught a cold and feel like crap. If for some reason I feel better today or early tomorrow I'll come out but doubt it very much. Totally bummed.
Have fun everyone, see you soon.
-
I am leaving this afternoon, I think I have some arrows in my truck. If not look for Black/tan Ford F-350 and blue/white Weekend Warrior trailer and I'll bring my flag.
-
??? ???
sooo lets here it......how was the enduro????
-
Cynthia, Terry, Annette, Lee, Stephen, Todd, Yo, JT, w/. guests Bryce and Mark did the Saturday FUN RUN. A few minor scrapes and scratches were sported around the campfire Saturday night. Great weather and company again this weekend. Norm Lee, Aaron and KJ on one minute and Todd, Terry and JT on another. Us old guys did 2 loops and the younger guys were blessed w/ an 18 mile 3rd loop. Norm wussed out on loop 2 and Aaron probably would have won his class if he was on minute 20 instead of minute 21!!! He is good at BURNING CHECKS ::) Probably the most I have seen on one card in all the years I have been doing enduros :D I'll let others chime in on the weekend of activities! KJ ps Tara was the LONE POOCH this weekend! :'(
-
Either I miss desert racing more than I knew or that was one of the best rides ever. Loop 1 was just fun weaving in and out of cougar buttes out towards soggy and back. I was only going to do 1 but I decided do to the 2nd. It was really good also I don't even know where we were as I was just trying to keep sight of Terry and Todd but it was fun. !0 miles shorter and that would have made it the best ride ever. The family enduro was great on Saturday. It was ran like an enduro Steven got a second and wore his medal proud, Cynthia and Annette earned their first finisher pin. Jon DNF'd all my fault. Can't wait for DMC.
-
I was only burning checks because my computer went out. My old school clock failed and my back up computer (mounted on the Gas Gas) also went out.
-
ps Tara was the LONE POOCH this weekend! :'(
We wanted to come out with DEZ RAT, but things just didn't work out, finally got things back in order after the T G weekend disaster.
A few small issues to finish up, but pretty much ready to get back into action.
-
What a great way to start the 2011 race season. We had a great time hanging out with you all. Thanks to Todd for timekeeping and keeping me on my toes. That dude is insane fast!Couldnt keep up but found him on some resets.
Cynthia is stoked on the family enduro.Says she feels like a real Viewie now LOL.She already was!Our plan is a crf230 with electric start and a computer by Prospectors enduro. The xr100 is just too short.
Looking forward to DMC. ;D

So glad you guys rode the family enduro, this is a great thing they are doing and it should increase enduro ridership. I had fun on the one before 4 Aces and it taught me how to keep time. I'm planning or riding the one before Prospectors as well, gotta see if I can use a checkmate, mounted Russ's on my bike this weekend.
-
Forgot one other guest that was out for the Fun Run. Lee invited a helo pilot named Brad ( I believe). He was only around long enough for me to be introduced as I got out late Saturday afternoon.
-
Brad? Brian? I'm not sure either...but a really cool guy. Rode the third loop with him on the familly ride and he ended up with a medal for his class. The family enduro idea is the best thing I have seen in a while, hope they keep it up. Steven had a great time and is really proud of his medal. Had a great time with John and Terry on the 1st and 2nd loop, minimal dust and a great course. 3rd loop, welll............................... Thanks for leaving the firewood, we hung out Sunday night and came home Monday AM. Great to see you all! Might come out Sunday for DMC, lets see some racers out there!
-
So Terry how does it feel to beat the master. How did that happen? The last hill on loop 3?

I totally agree with you Todd on the family enduro, was really fun at 4 Aces and should help get more people riding enduros. Sure sorry I missed this one.
So J.T. what did you do to Jo's bike to make him DNF? We need details!
-
Hopefully he didn't make the same mistake again! cough cough ;D

Todd didnt go through the last check.

[/quote]I thought he only had to do 2 loops. He went to see how he did and found out he was DQ'd for missing loop 3. He was done anyways as he ate it on his way back afer the 2nd loop and hurt his shoulder and arm a bit.

OK, thought the green monster broke again. Hope he's O.K. Most everyone goes three loops in their format, even old fart novices like me ;D. At the 4 Aces I pulled out after two loops too, had enough and was understanding the time keeping deal, which is why I rode it by myself. Then the next day found out I'd won something, go figure, here I don't go the distance but still trophy! I guess it was some kind of metal like Steven got. It was fun though. Hope the Thorntons make it out in March.
