Jim raced the 100's National on a KTM 200. I rode to see where I'm at with my back. I had tons of fun , however I'm still paying the price for RIDING the event.  :( So It looks like you are now the new ENDURO captain. :-\

GOOD LUCK  :o

If you guys are signing up at the event then we should be able to get you on a minute with Eric.  At least that way I have somebody to look after him.

Jim that is only temporary.  You will be back.

Yea, but who will be the timekeeper? I'm thinking about riding this one with a prospective member but he's never done and enduro. I have the timekeeping equipment and am working on understanding it but certainly don't have it down. Computers are too much money. Anyone have one I can borrow? Russ?

Don't underestimate the power of the rollchart/ stop watch setup.  Mike Hastings used to kick butt with just a wristwatch wrapped around the bars and a roll chart.   I also think it is a lot of fun to do it that way, especially on the first loop.

I'm thinking about this one. Let me know if there is room on a minute, I have a computer and I think I might even remember how to use it!

I don't know about that.  Don't you need KJ to blow past you a few times first ???

Yes, you'll need all three. The roll chart will give you instructions as for time/miles that you confirm via the odo and watch. Now exactly how you do that is another issue. I have a program that converts the route sheet to a roll chart and I did it at the last enduro and per Todd it is the right thing. I'll post the link for the download, its free. Or you can buy a roll chart at the event. The roll chart holder should be on your bike before you get there.

No. Dont buy one!  If you have one put it on but otherwise just follow Donn's lead this time. There are  a few better solutions that would work better. My trail tech was nothing but trouble.

Pre entry is most likely closed.  Just get with Donn and the other guys before signup.  Just hang out on the first loop.  Ignore timekeeping after that.  Just go as fast as you can.

Yes, we'll sign up at the event. When are you planning on going out? If you're going out on Sunday I'll get a minute for us on Saturday. As long as there's 3 or more they should hold the fourth spot for you.

Terry, if you can get on someone else's minute you'd be better off as I'm only a one looper. Maybe the other 1/2 minute that Aaron has will have a spot.

When's everyone going out? I think I'm leaving Friday afternoon and plan on riding the family enduro on Saturday. Hoping that will teach me the time keeping better.

Gumby will be looking to "tag along" with someone that can keep time so maybe you can do the same, either on his minute or someone else's. The DD suggestion is a good one, they typically have more riders there and should be receptive. I'll sniff around Saturday. I'm heading out tomorrow afternoon, should be there by sunset at the latest.

I'll most likely set up camp close to signups unless someone objects. Look for at least one sign (lost one at Lost Coyotes) and my flag/light. Just picked up a replacement pole for the one I broke at the G.P. so I'm good to go.

Word of caution, don't drive under the ped. bridge with your flag up!

Cold and windy, but had alot of fun. Thanks everyone for letting me tag along on your minute.Especially Norm for giving up his ride.

1st loop i rode like a squid just did not feel right.Had trouble keeping up with everyone.2nd loop i felt normal and was glad to see i could "kinda almost" keep up with Aaron. Thanks again Aaron for the ODO.

Next time i will be more prepared,i like the enduro format and the course was amazing although it did kick my ass.

What do you mean "kinda almost" most of the day you were right behind me?  The one little mishap where you got stuck shouldn't count much against you.  I don't think there was a check until you caught up.

Congratulations Donn Nay.  He trophied in the family enduro on Saturday.

I did? Where did you see that? I forgot all about the awards thing Saturday evening, was too busy staying inside and keeping warm while talking with everyone. The family enduro was great though. I highly recommend it for someone to try out the enduro format. I thought I had it figured out and this really sealed the deal for me, I actually zero'd the tie breaker! Of course it helped that Nick and Martin Blais were on the minute before me.

As Terry said, he took Norm's spot so it was Lee, Aaron, Terry and KJ on minute 21. I got on minute 25 but didn't know anyone, one guy knew what he was doing so that helped, especially when my stopwatch jumped off time. We all finished the first loop still on our minute, Lee had 33 seconds and I was at 39, so he beat me by 6 seconds, fortunately he's a 250 and I'm open so maybe we both kicked butt! The others went out on the second loop but KJ called it quits with about 10 mile to go. Aaron and Terry went the distance and finished. From the District board it looks like most everyone did well on loop one and dropped a ton on loop two, so I think we all did pretty well yesterday. The weather totally sucked, a little rain on Saturday and major wind and COLD. All in all a fun weekend.

Now its get ready for CATALINA!

Thanks Llee for keeping us on time the 1st loop. Not sure why my computer went to sleep on the start line??? It came awake about 22 miles into the loop, but no time to set until lunch break. No need for a computer in the 2nd loop ??? The speed averages were to fast for me and I'd have been better off w/ a bulldozer as the Gas Gas wasn't much good at pushing all the rocks out of the way >:( Glad it was Terry & not me that kept AP company the last 10 miles ;D Good company, but  we could have done w/o the wind!!!  There was snow in the flatland and hills on my way home through Tehachapi :o
