Well it looks like a mini bike may be in my not so distant future. Nate has always ridden is bicycle with training wells. I was at my friends house and he jumped on one of his kids bikes without training wheels and took off. I looked over and watched him and then realized, hey he is riding without any training wheels! :o

We came home and took off his training wheels and now he is riding around the yard. He is a little wobbly but I can't believe he just started doing it.
He has been talking about getting a motorcycle so after he really gets comfortable on his bicycle, I may be looking for a mini bike.  :D

It is great being a dad!  ;D

OH BOY, now the fun starts. Some of my best times were spent when they were little like that and actually thought you knew a thing or two. Soak it in Chris 'cause it doesn't last forever.

There are a great selection of kids bikes out there, some with electric start even. I'll keep my eyes open for you as used ones never seem to hit the market, they're just passed around amongst friends.

Thanks Donn, we aren't in any big hurry since his quad is still fine but if the right deal comes along then I am all for it.
I remember when I was just learning how to ride a bike. My dad freaked out because I was still pretty wobbly but he looked out and saw I had setup a little jump (plywood on a block).  I am sure Nate will be doing the same kind of stuff also since he is a little dare devil.

Funny story that reminded me of. Very close friends of our were at Charlies Place with us once. Their oldest is about Kyle's age and the youngest is 17. At that time he was just starting to ride a PW80. All the "big boys" were riding bigger bikes and had a jump setup behind our camp. After a bit we walk out to see how they're doing and here's the youngest just hitting the jump, tapped out in third (high) gear. His mom just about freaked out right on the spot. Well she got over it since the bike took the brunt of the beating, that poor PW80 was about 6" longer after that weekend, don't know how the frame actually held together.
