Jerry Grabow has reached out to a few clubs for some help for a Rescue 3 member, Richard. Richard was very active with R3 a few years ago but moved away, he's back and having health issues. Apparently due to diabetes he's lost 1/2 of one leg and needs a prosthesis but does not have the $1200.00 deductible. Jerry is asking if we can donate $100.00 toward this. I said I would ask but due to our current financial belt tightening I was not sure. I met Richard when Kevin was flown out from Dirt Diggers, he was running the C.P. that day; I'm in favor of the donation, what's everyone think?

I am okay with it but doesn't District 37 have a pretty big bank account? Why doesn't the district jut donate the money? I know Jerry said they would loan the Catalina race like 30 or 40K if they needed it.

Jerry is asking district for some $$ also but doesn't feel it's right to ask for that much, thinking like 200-500 from district and the balance of the 1200 from the rest of the clubs, he said he had most of it committed.

I'm good with the club donating.  I will personally throw in $100 since he is one of the guys that helped put most of Kevin's brain back in his head. Tell me where to send a check.

I guess the part of Kevin's brain still in the desert is the part that tells him to sleep at night and play during the day.   ::)

It sounds good to me also.  if it is not within the clubs budget, just advise.  I with Brian, I would donate towards this no problem.  I am positive there are a few viewies that would throw in a few bucks to cover.

I'm going to tell Jerry yes, I think we can cover it personally if the club can't. Just the four of us that said yes and it would only be 25 each.\

I'll find out where to send the check.

Another option, I am still due some racer funds from earlier this year.  Not sure if the fund is even active, but I would gladly donate them to this.
