D,P and I will be working the pits and want to camp up there so anyone getting their before us please fine something fairly close (walking distance) to Pit Row. I know some of the "Racers" may want to get some sleep and perfur to camp somewhere else and that may happen, but we need access to our stuff throughout the day. Hopefully we can all hang out together...

Just try and feel better, hope it isn't too serious. Don't worry about keeping everyone waiting, this is a prime example of what being in our club is all about. They stayed for you just like you would have stayed for them.

First off there was not one Viewe that even asked about leaving before Gumby was back in and that was truly outstanding. Gumby thought he had enough fuel to make the mileage. Everyone questioned it but he assured us he was good to go as it turns out he was not. Once Josh, James and Pete found him, he got fuel just before dark and was coming back in then he hit something on the back side of victor pass and put him on the ground and the game changed. Josh and James came back to get a truck and Pete stayed with him. When it was all said and done Norm and James when out in the truck to pick Gumby and Pete up with some help from HBMC that was out getting one of their riders everyone was back in the pits at about 7:00pm.
There was a few take aways from this deal; if a club member is stopped always always stop to determine what is going on and if the member waves you by stop anyway. We had two ride by Gumby he waved them by or give the thumbs up so they did not stop therefore no one had any idea what was wrong. By knowing what the problem was it may have made a difference on how this all turned out. It is very important to get word back to the pits.
In review: 1: always stop for a club member 2: If you are broke down stop all club members and let them know what your status is. 3: make sure all new members know this drill. CB

Very good points CB. This can be found in the "Members Tools" section but here is the link. http://www.viewfindersmc.com/forum/index.php?topic=664.0Print out the Stuck Stub form and carry some with you. Don't forget the pencil and a razor or knife to sharpen it or even a pencil sharpener! A pen may not work when needed. Fill them out so you can quickly hand them to someone(s). This way the word can get back to the pits and not be misheard or take much time to pass on when it is non critical. Non of us wants to hold up someone else race but this can be passed very quickly. Since it wasn't mentioned yet, So Cal member Lance Black was killed yesterday in an unseen crash. It is very sad to hear and a reminder how short life is. Please take time to think about his family and send your condolences if you wish.
