Sending good luck wishes to my fave Lil Viewie............

....... Lil Nayyyyyykidd!

Oh Jenn, he's going to love that one, hates being associated with that nickname!

Unfortunately for him I figured that one out! I think he's adapting well to his nickname... I just can't wait for him to get home from work and discover his sweet lil message!

... Heart you Lil NayyKIDD

If you put them up! When are you heading out? We won't be leaving Burbank until about 5:00, stop and eat and be there around 9:00 or so. I have arrows, etc. The Hastings usually get out early if they're coming, I assume they are. Mike isn't too good about arrows but always has his flag up.

One more thing, there might be a prospective member show up Sunday morning to guest pit with us, I told him to ask for you or me. His name is David Bushey. Rides a 450 Kawasaki, beginner vet.

So Aaron, you still haven't told me when you are heading out! Looks like either you or I will be there first, Sandy should be there about the same time as us. If he wants to I'm going to send my brother in law early and have him just put up some pie platesor black/white Viewie arrows, so look for those or the fancier Russ Jenkins signs. Unless Aaron is there first, no telling what he'll put up.

I am leaving Helendale at about 6-7.  Unless there are arrows in the pit box I am out.

Go to the members section and you'll find the pdf. file for the arrows. If you only have white paper print them out on that. I'll have some other yellow arrows, etc. when I get there.

WHAT AN AWESOME WEEKEND!

Arrived right behind Sandy Friday night. No arrows in sight so he put up one and we set up camp along with my Brother In Law, Brian. Just as we were finishing setting up over walks Aaron and Eric, they had a camp about 100 yards from where we set up but no arrows, flags, or anything that would disinguish them as Viewfinders. Luckily we were close enough that nobody had to relocate. A bit chilly but just a sweatshirt around the campfire.

Saturday saw a few more arrivals. Julian and John (Gumby), Pete Modina, Norm and Dale, Steve from Bishop, Pete's daughter and family, The Hastings (including a new svelt version of Dottie!), Keith, The Illes family, another friend of mine Barney in his limo of a motorhome, Josh and James Jenkins in Josh's truck with the Rhino stuffed in the back.

Saturday's kids race had the Illes' kids, Erica & Austin. Austin took the hole shot but dropped it later in the first lap and had to pass the entire field (which he did) put slid out on the final lap and ended in second. Brian and Austin had a bet, if he won he could keep his long hair, otherwise it was a buzz. Considering his come from behind I think he might get to keep his locks, or maybe a little trim at least. Todd's boy Steven had a good race and took the win in his age group. The girls were motoring around in fine fashion and having fun. As usual fun for all.

At the completion of the kid's race was the Adult Mini Challenge. As most of you know these are a riot. Kyle and Bubba were the first to sign up of course and Marc from Rescue 3 talked me into teaming up with him on his son's TTR125. The race started with one boot on, laying on your stomach, facing away from your bike, bike facing the wrong way. First lap was DOUBLED UP on the minis, that was an arse beater, those of you that know who Marc is know that he is not a little fellow and I could stand to drop a few pounds myself, that poor Yamaha! We traded riders every lap, did more doubled up, shut each others bikes off, cut the course. You name it we did it. A total kick in the butt and tiring.

Had a good meeting that evening, Dale took notes so I won't go into that except to say welcome to the club to Eric Lemoingne (sp?) and our newest prospect, my Brother In Law, Brian Matthews.

Sunday was a carbon copy of Saturday, but with a wispy cloud cover that moved out around 10:00. The Barneys showed up in the morning along with their neighbor Kevin. We had a total of 18 or 19 racers, including me and my brother in law one loopers, we even talked Bubba into riding one loop! The 4 Aces laid out a super easy first loop, one techinical rocky downhill and one shalely uphill was all the technical stuff there was. Not total whoops but quite a bit and a lot of cross grain chop. This being my first race in 21 years I was beat by mile 10 so I kicked it down and just had a trail ride, gotta get in shape! Kyle (Rag Boy) got a great start, top 10 at the bomb, passed all the Novices and was leading the Novice line for 3/4 of the loop, but ate it hard and twisted bike, body, etc. Came into the pits ninth Novice but could not continue, no clutch again. Michael Hastings dropped out after one loop and Cactus Jones didn't go back out with a front flat. Other than that all soldered on. Mr. Barney took top open Mag. and Sandy won Vet Ammie and was second overall Ammie. Todd Illes finished well as did Charlies neighbor Kevin. Brian passed me about mid loop and finished well for a one looper, Bubba got third one loop 250 Novice. Keith Jones was third Mag 250 and Mike Hastings was 8th. Steve Vouchon was the last one to finish, but finish he did. Norm had a successful run, not sure how he finished. No rescues, all except Rag Boy, in good health.

Overall a great weekend for the club, wonderful weather (71 at 3:30 when we left). Really good to see such a large turnout after last year's events.
